Louisville - February 27th 2010

We decided to take a day trip to Louisville today. It is less than a two hour drive. We drove to the Temple and took the kids for a walk around the gardens. The Temple is very small and has no Visitor's Center. After seeing the Temple we found a nice place for lunch and then went to the Louisville Slugger Factory/Museum.

The Factory was pretty neat. We went on a tour (no production occurs on Saturdays in the winter, so we didn't get to actually see them making bats), saw a movie about baseball, looked at some exhibits and of course used the batting cages. Walter had a lot of fun in the cage and did fairly well hitting slow pitch. I was able to use Ken Griffey Jr.'s bat model and was able to get ahold of some of the baseball pitches. It was a good day, the kids were pretty tired and not very well behaved for the ride home.
